Collective
When I was trying to think of a name for the group, the word collective came to mind. When I think of what a collective is, I think of a group of people working together and helping each other achieve the same goal(s). Our goal in The Mobile Artists Collective is to foster development, share information and just communicating with fellow members. A few ways we can accomplish this is; Sharing any helpful tips for using a particular app, answering any questions posted by fellow members, posting a new app that other’s may find useful, etc.
Mobile
One of the purposes of this group is to bring people of different “disciplines” and/or “areas of expertise” together. There are many groups that are dedicated to specific apps and devices. But at The Mobile Artist Collective we are more open with who may join. Not only if you are iOS user, including iPhone, but also android users. We want all of you mobile artists to come take part in the conversation and share your creations. Not only do we want to see your paintings but also your photography whether it be altered or not. But please, with your photos, be selective on what you post. Only your best work. Unless there is some remarkable about the photo of your kids and/or grandkids, please save those for your private page.
Plans for the Group
I have several ideas for the group and will always welcome new ideas. Some ideas are as follows and will require members to volunteer their time and expertise. Creative Challenges; the current and ongoing challenge is to design the groups cover photo but another challenge could include the members suggesting and then voting on a particular subject to be painted or photographed. Of course participation is completely optional but heavily encouraged. Another idea is to have group collaborations. Collaborations can be suggested by any member at any time. This goes with the working together mantra of the group. One more idea I had was for those members, who have the knowledge and ability, to produce tutorials and reviews of apps or related accessories i.e. stylus. These could be in the form of a written post or video. You could post it directly on the group page or link to your website.
Exclusion
The only caveat and exclusion is that your art has to be created on an android or iOS device. We’re not allowing Photoshop or GIMP art to be posted. Those mediums are already well represented and accepted as it is. We want to help promote the up and coming form of art that is the Mobile Arts.
One last thing, please no discussions of religion and politics. And be nice.
If you made it to this point, thanks for reading all the way through and have fun.
